Welcome To The Petersfield School
The Petersfield School is a mixed 11 - 16 Foundation School with over 1200 pupils on roll. We have a specialism in the Performing Arts (Dance, Drama, Music). TPS wins Rock Challenge National Open Award for Choreography
We have just been informed that we have won this prestigious award, beating more than 300 schools who took part nationally in this year's Rock Challenge - an incredible achievement! The judges commented on the high standard of entries this year, making judging no easy task.
We won "For stunning choreography throughout. Fantastic musicality, staging, use of canon, and originality. Great use of motif and gesture to convey the theme alongside an excellent integration of props."
Congratulations to Lisa Baker, her fantastic team, and to the hugely talented students who took part.

TPS WINS Rock Challenge 2011
A big congratulations to all involved with 'Through the eyes of a child' - TPS has won first place in the Southern Final Rock Challenge Competition!
In addition to taking first place overall, we also recieved a number of other awards:
Best Choreography
Appropriateness to theme, interpretation, variety, visual impact, design, patterning, innovation and creativity, use of stage, entrances and exits, levels, intergration with set and props and musicality.
Best Make-up Design
Visual impact, intergrated characterisation, innovative design, attention to detail, styling, intergration with set, constumes and impact from distance.
Best Video Performance
(TPS' Video Director Assistant - James Nash. James designed all cues, camera angles and camera shots for our performance). Clear crisp video coverage, lighting used for visibility, detail of hair & make-up/costume, design and performance.
Spirit of Rock Challenge Award
Friendship and camaraderie shown towards all other schools/competitors throughout the day. This is awarded by the other competing schools/students/teachers.

Admissions - September 2011
As a Foundation School, TPS recognises Parental Choice and is happy to welcome applications from a wide geographical area. Every year students join us from a range of Primary and some Preparatory schools, including many from outside the traditional catchment area. Our intention is always to try to offer places to any student who wishes to transfer at Year 7 regardless of where they come from - whilst always following Admissions protocols and applying our published Admissions criteria. |

School Uniform RulesI would like to refer parents to our rules on Uniform which can be found on page 14 of the Student Planner. We are reinforcing these rules and any student who is not in proper uniform will be asked to sort this out immediately and, if this is not possible, they will be asked to go home, sort out their uniform and return to school, as per the Department for Children, Schools & Families (DCSF) guidelines... Per4mPer4m, the junior performing arts club, meets in the STUDIO at The Petersfield School. The times for the classes has changed and for pupils in years 3 & 4 it is still 6:30pm, but for students in years 5 & 6 the time has changed to 5:30 - 7pm. |

Hampshire Quality Mark GOLD
Congratulations to TPS for being awarded the Hampshire Quality Mark GOLD award for the quality of CPD (Staff Training). The assessors looked at how training impacted on student learning and were particularly wowed by the extent to which our students get involved in how the school makes progress. |
